LILBOURN — Alfreda Smith, 76, died Sept. 5, 2013, at her home.
Born Dec. 26, 1936, in Canalou, to the late Orval Sylvester Jones and Floy Arbuckle Jones Gruen, she was a member of the New Madrid Church of Christ.
On Jan. 8, 1954, in Tunica, Miss., she married George Smith Jr.
Survivors include: five daughters and three sons-in-law, Melissa and John Fourthman, Cendra and Phil Burk, Sondra Elliott, Reba Jeffords and Tammy and Ronnie Ivie of Lilbourn; three sons-in-law, Scott Elliott of Cape Girardeau, Roger Jeffords of Danville, Ala., and Gary Paynter of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Maxcine Smith of St. Louis and Reba Jones of New Athens, Ill.; one brother, Alva Jones of Freeburg, Ill.; a special friend and caregiver, Anna Hampton of Lilbourn; and 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, George Steven Smith, and one brother, Arlynn Jones.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn.
Pallbearers will be: Cody Ivie, Collin Ivie, Preston Elliott, Michael Burk and Matthew Burk.
Honorary pallbearer is Jorge Burk.
