Ray E. Smith, 72 of LaForge , passed away January 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born August 25, 1943 in Sikeston, to the late Chester Odell and Lucille Farrenburg Smith. On February 22, 1964, he married Joan Wescoat Smith, who survives of the home. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters American Local #0716.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by; two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Smith.
Survivors include; two daughters, Judy Gail (Aaron) Mitchell of Sikeston, Bobbi Rae Smith (Laura Ort), of New Madrid, two sisters, Frieda (Bruce) Gilmer of New Madrid, Kathy Klaus of Perryville, one granddaughter, Jessie (Nick) Snipes of New Madrid, one great-grandchild, Ashton Snipes of New Madrid, several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends, including one special friend Danny Farrenburg.
