Wanda Taylor Obituary

Wanda June Taylor (nee Harrison) passed away on April 30, 2024, at St. Francis hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO., at  the age of 73. She was born on July 22, 1950, in Stoddard County, Missouri. Wanda retired from Western Southern Life Insurance Group after working many years in various positions at the Cincinnati Home Office. 

Wanda was known for her quick, sharp wit and varied interests. An avid reader, she enjoyed discussing books with friends during their "hen party lunches." In her free time, she cherished moments spent with special friends and engrossing herself in a good book. 

She is survived by her sisters Barbara Faye Harrison Bradford and Mary Catherine Harrison Newton. She is also cherished and remembered by her beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and her very special best friend/sister of the heart, Pat Kallemeier Hampton. 

Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Charles Elvis "Red" Harrison, her mother, Novella Allen Harrison, and her sisters Linda Sue Harrison Brand, Janice Elaine Harrison Phelps, and Marjorie Ellen Harrison. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, from 11 AM to 1:00 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, Missouri, followed by a service at 1:00 p.m.. The burial will take place at Mounds Cemetery. 

Wanda's warm smile and quick wit will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

"In Memory Of" book donations are welcomed in celebration of her life. You may contact New Madrid Memorial Library for information. She 
visited often and enjoyed spending time there.
