Shirley Perry Obituary

Shirley Ann Phillips Perry, 88, of New Madrid, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1937, to the late Fred and Mary Jane Phillips.

On April 20, 1958, she married the love of her life, Clarence E. “Bud” Perry in Portageville, Missouri. After 53 years of marriage, Bud preceded her in death on October 8, 2011.

Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud Nana whose life was marked by deep faith, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. She was a cherished member of her community and will be remembered for her gentle spirit and generous heart.

For nearly 50 years, Shirley was a pillar of the New Madrid community and a highly respected real estate agent. Known for her integrity, work ethic and genuine care for the people she served, she helped generations of families find not just houses, but homes. Her professionalism and personal touch left a lasting impact on her clients and colleagues alike, and her legacy in our small town will be felt for years to come.

She is survived by her daughters, Marsha Perry Palmer (Ralph) and Sharon Perry Lathum. Shirley counted among her greatest blessings her four granddaughters: Morgan Lathum, Paige Palmer Kimball (Jake), Madison Lathum Kerulis (Joe), Emilee Palmer Bakersmith (Tommy). She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, Laura Jane Kimball and Camden Kimball.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by six sisters, five brothers, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
