Renae Day Obituary

Renae Lujun Williams-Day

Renae Day, 61, of New Madrid, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on Easter Sunday, April 17th, 2022 surrounded by her husband and family.

Renae, affectionately known as “Nae-Nae”, was born in Moberly, MO to the late Reverend W.C. and Mayme Williams on April 26th, 1960.  She was educated in the public schools of Moberly, MO; where she loved being a part of the cheerleading squad and a student of her older brother, Gregory Williams. She graduated with her Associates degree from Moberly Area Community College.

On April 24th, 1982 Renae married Charles Stephenson Jr. in Marshall, MO and to this union three daughters were born; Raven Stephenson (Marshall, MO), Tiffany (Aaron) Cook (Marshall, MO) and NaTisha (Reggie) Palmer (Marshall, MO) and a bonus son Christian (Keonna) Stephenson (Columbia, MO).

She married Travis Day of New Madrid, MO, May 17th, 2003. They were the personification of love and were inseparable. With each smile, laugh, and hug they poured into each other and loved each other out loud everyday.

Renae held various administrative positions including at Pilgrim Rest Mt.Olive Baptist Church, Orscheln Farm & Home, Moberly Regional Hospital, Riceland. Her most recent endeavor was working at Powerhouse CommunityDevelopment Corporation as a Billing Assistant for Recovery Support Services and as a coordinator for the Fatherhood Program until her health began to decline.

Renae was an avid singer, she enjoyed listening to gospel music and singing in the choir;  Heaven Scent, Pilgrim Rest Mt. Olive Baptist Church (PRMOBC) and choirs at other special events throughout the state.  One of her favorite songs was “I Won't Complain” by Rev. Paul Jones, which later became her personal testimony.  Renae’s passion for life was fueled by her love for her husband; Travis Day, her daughters, and her grandchildren. She especially loved traveling with her husband, watching him coach basketball, and family getaways with her sisters, daughters and nieces.

Renae will be best remembered for her warm heart, her infectious smile and impactful encouragement.  Renae had the gift to make any person that was mad or sad to glad with laughter. Her “comical commentary” about your cooking, your singing, your outfit, your basketball team or football team, your hair, and your weight were the basis of her comedy.

Renae will be profoundly missed by all she encountered. Survivors include: husband of 19 years; Travis Nathaniel Day.  Cherishing her precious memory; her daughters whom she loved dearly; her grandchildren: Iyan Kemper, Chaztin Stephenson, Akelyha Palmer, LaDarion Cook, Mason Farmer, Kaleb Cook, Sian Palmer, Noah Hoskins, Kylee Cook, Lillianna Cook, Kyra Cook, Laycee Cook, and bonus grandson, Baby Charles III.
