Pecola Wofford was born November 15, 1929, in Kewanee, Missouri, to the late Jessie Lee and Willie Mae Jones.
She married the late Simon Wofford, III on February 8, 1947, In New Madrid.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Lee and Willie Mae Jones; her husband, Simon Wofford, III; three daughters, Alberta Farr, Dorothy Wofford and Sharon Lola Wofford; and one son, Simon Wofford, IV.
She was raised in Missouri; as a child, she confessed a hope in Christ at a young age. She was an active member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ at Howardville, Missouri. She taught classes in church and believed in the power of prayer. She loved to cook and had a loving and peaceful spirit of a mother. She leaves to cherish: her sister, Iola Ward; and her brother, Freddie Crowe; nine daughters, Alice Hester, Mary Cain, Janice and Lloyd White, Rose and Larry Butler, Norma and Richard Amos, Ruth and Jeffery Thompson, Sandra and Daryl Devine, Helen and Alvin Thomas, Vanessa and David Strong; eight sons, Aaron and Shirley Wofford, Larry and Bracey Wofford, Jann Wofford, Robert Wofford, Samuel and Toni Wofford, Anthony and Sherrie Wofford, Emory and Jill Wofford and LaShone Wofford, host of grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
