Mark Riley LaValle of Hornbeak, Tennessee, near Reelfoot Lake, died on September 11th, 2023, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 68 years. He was born March 5th, 1955, in Cape Girardeau, Mo, to Charles Edward and Laura Riley LaValle. He is survived by his partner, Susie Prince, and three children, Nicole Litschauer (Ted), Bobby Palmer, and Tammy Recker. He is also survived by one brother, Bob LaValle (Linda), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his siblings Virginia Carlson, Charles LaValle Jr., Bill LaValle, and Kathleen Deegan.
Mark attended the University of Alabama earning a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Geology. He enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, and levee rides overlooking the river. He was intelligent, witty, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mark was of the Catholic faith.
Visitation is at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, Mo, on Monday, September 18th, from 10 AM to 11 AM. Graveside service will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, Mo, with Reverend GL Keene officiating. Pallbearers are Bobby Palmer, Pat Carlson, David LaValle, John LaValle, Brian LaValle, Lee LaValle, and Edward LaValle.
