Loretta Violet Olojugba, 61 passed away at St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO on February 27, 2025. She was born 12/24/ 1963 in Cairo, IL.
Loretta, or “Rat” as her family affectionately called her, was such a warm, loving and caring person. She was born December 24, 1963 on Christmas Eve in Cairo, Illinois, one of eight children. She had a passion for making things and places beautiful. Celebrating family and friends with thoughtful gifts throughout the year.
After attending business school, she worked for the Kentucky Department of Transportation for over 22 years. Later in life, after the marriage to Michael Olojugba living in Baltimore, MD working as an In Home supervisor for home health service. Her brother (Leon) moved her to Nashville, TN were she lived for several years. Due to her illness she decided to move to New Madrid, Missouri were she was later called to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Mae Aveary Webster and Jimmy Aveary Sr., and her brother Jimmy Aveary Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: seven siblings: Carolyn Cranford ( Bishop Marvelle Cranford), Howardville, Missouri; Ferlindia Pruitt, Springfield, Illinois; Leon Aveary (Deborah), Antioch, Tennessee; Brenda Aveary Gladney, Scottsdale, Arizona; Vonda Clyde ( Kenneth), Paducah, KY; Jamel Aveary, Nashville, TN; Jacque Woodson, Westland, Michigan; Special friend/cousin Sue Goodman (Stacy) Decatur, IL; Uncle Vernell Bethel (Eunice), Gary, IN; Elatrice Lenox (Melvin), Decatur, IL; Albert Lee (Bertha), Killeen, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation is Saturday March 8, 2025 at Friendship Church in Howardville, MO from 12 noon to 1pm.
Funeral Service will be at 1pm.
