Leslie Pride-Pierson Obituary

Leslie Ann Pride-Pierson, 53, of Kewanee, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. Leslie was born on March 29, 1968, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of Larry Pride and Vickie (Veatch) Minehart. She was united in marriage to James Richard “Rick” Pierson on September 7, 2016, in New Madrid after sharing a lifetime of love together. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2021.

Leslie spent her life helping others not only as a friend but as a caregiver. She loved and she loved big. She had a servant’s heart and a willingness to help others.

She is survived by Mother, Vickie Minehart, Father, Larry Minehart, Three sisters and one brother, Lisa (Nick) Caldwell of New Madrid, Lynn Choate of Kewanee, Lara (Kenny) Eads of Morley, and Keith Minehart of Germany. One Grandparent, Sidney Pride of Qulin. Stepson, Joseph (Jennifer) Chappell of Dexter and four grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Tyler, Rocky, and Alaina Chappell all of Tiptonville, Tennessee. Niece, Alison (Josh) Dowling and their four children of Macon, Niece, Jennifer Genna and her daughter of Poplar Bluff, Nephew Michael Choate of Kewanee, Nephew Kendale (Victoria) Eads and their son of Chaffee, and Niece Larisa (Brandon Mott) Eads of Scott City. These nieces and nephews had a special place in Leslie’s heart as if they were her own children.

In addition to her husband, those who preceded her in death and greeted her at the Gates of Heaven were her father, Larry Pride, who she has missed greatly over the past 25 years, Grandmother Marie Pride, Grandparents Paul and Velma Veatch, Grandparents Earnest and Florence Minehart, Aunt Sue Veatch, Uncle David Veatch, Cousin Chris Veatch, and several other loved ones that she held close to her heart.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Richard’s Funeral Home in New Madrid, followed with the funeral beginning at 1:00pm and burial immediately following at Elder’s Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.
