Josephine Champion Fowler 95, of New Madrid, passed away April 20, 2018 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.
She had been in failing health for many years.
She was born July 5, 1922, in Fulton, KY., to the late John and Ida B. Grooms Champion. She moved to Missouri as a child and had lived in New Madrid County ever since. She married to Henry E. Fowler June 15, 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 14, 2002, she was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She was a member of Kewanee Missionary Baptist Church, and she loved vegetable and flower gardening. She also enjoyed quilting with all of her friends.
Survivors include; one daughter, Gail (Jim) Duke of New Madrid, one son, Tony (Annette) Fowler, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Mary L. Champion and Dorothy Fowler, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
