John Gaddy, Sr.

John Gaddy, Sr, 92, died on September 8th, 2018, in Sikeston, Missouri.

He was born on January 31st, 1926, in Conway, Arkansas; son of the late Thomas Gaddy and Laura Sullivan- Gaddy.

On October 4th, 1947, in New Madrid, Missouri, he married Mary Johnson - Gaddy, who preceded him in death.

He retired from the City of New Madrid in 1987. He was an important member of the community through his volunteering efforts as well as being a member of the Neighborhood Watch.

He leaves to cherish in his memory five Daughters and six Sons: Evelyn (James) Byrd, Sr of Aurora, Illinois, Mary (David) Gatson of Aurora, Colorado, Ruthie(Lance) Cushinberry of Fort Wayne Indiana, Gloria Ann Johnson of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Linda Gray (Terrence Morris) of Kansas City, Missouri, John Gaddy Jr. of New Madrid, Missouri, Thomas (Ollie) Gaddy of Goodyear, Arizona, Carl (Betty) Gaddy of Oswego, Illinois, James "Pat" (Cynthia) Gaddy Sr. of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Bruce (Vanessa) Gaddy Sr. of Aurora, Illinois, and Allen Johnson of Fort Wayne Indiana. He also leaves behind a special nephew, James (Sonny) Cunningham of Louisville, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Gaddy and Laura Sullivan-Gaddy, his two sisters, Maggie Brewer and Angeline "TT" Tate, as well as his special niece Saddie Lee Caffey. He also leaves behind numerous of Nieces and Nephews as well as 36 Grandchildren and a host of Great and Great-Great Grandchildren.

He is leaving behind a special friend, Bertha "Sis" Kellum-Burgess.

The family would like to thank each and every one of you for your support and loving kindness during this time.
