Joan P. (Wescoat) Smith

Joan P. Wescoat Smith, 76, of New Madrid, passed away July 30, 2020 at her home.

She was born December 12, 1943, to the late Alice Lewis Wescoat and Siebert O'Bannon Wescoat.   She was a member of the American Legion Post #595 in New Madrid.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by : husband, Ray E. Smith in 2016,  2 brothers, James "Buck" Wescoat and Virgil "White" Wescoat, 5 sisters, Virgie "Lady" Lawfield, Betty Clark, Ruth Phillips, Shirley Hector, and Judy Richard.

Survivors include : two daughters, Judy Gail (Aaron) Mitchell of New Madrid and Bobbi Rae Smith (Laura Ort) of New Madrid, one brother, John Wescoat of New Madrid, two grandchildren, Jessie Mitchell Snipes of New Madrid and Skye Smith Ort of New Madrid, one great-grandson, Ashton Snipes of New Madrid, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude's or plant a tree in her memory.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
