Jerry Richard Allred, 79, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025. Born in Lilbourn ,MO on August 3rd, 1946 to the late Albert Lee Allred and Edna Odessia (Morris)Allred, Jerry lived a life of devotion to his country, family and the Lord.
A true family man, Jerry was known for being a selfless person who always put his family, friends and others first. he was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and uncle who was there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his daughters; Leslie Marie Griffis and her husband Mike and Amanda Sue Allred, sisters; Naomi “Coosie” Peeler, Carolyn Taylor and her husband Bill, Joy Hayes and her husband Robert and Vickey McCain and her husband Jim, brothers; Hubert Allred and his wife Deloris, Albert Allred and his wife Betty and Harold Allred and his wife Charlotte. He is also survived by his grandchildren whom he dearly loved; Ethan Michael Griffis and Emma Marie Griffis. Jerry enjoyed being involved with his children and grandchildren’s sports. Whether it was being a coach on the field or supporting from the sidelines, he was always there.
Jerry is now reunited with his wife of over 50 years, Carolyn Sue (Porter) Allred, who passed away in July of 2022. They married on May 29th, 1971, now together eternally.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Masterson and brother Doug Allred.
Jerry was a 1965 graduate of Lilbourn High School in New Madrid County, MO. A follower of Christ, Jerry was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Bowling Green,KY. Outside of being a devoted friend and family member, he was a US Veteran who served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his military service, he began his career with General Motors where he would retire after 33 years of dedicated service.
There will be a visitation from 5-7 PM on Thursday, August 7th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church followed by a prayer service at 7pm. Visitation in New Madrid, MO will be held Friday August 8th from 5-7 PM at Richards Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be at 11am on Saturday, August 9th at the Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid, MO. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
