Jason Smith Obituary

Jason Matthew Smith, born January 8, 1975 at Sikeston Hospital, passed away on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and strong family ties.

Jason was known for his outgoing personality and great sense of humor. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and bringing smiles to those around him. He was a proud graduate of New Madrid County Central High School and went on to further his education at Nashville Auto Diesel College. 

He is survived by his father, Bob Smith of New Madrid, Missouri, and his mother Hazel Smith of New Madrid, Missouri; his brother Bobby Smith and sister-in-law Gina Smith also of New Madrid, Missouri. Lyndzi Hart Curtis and her husband, Peyton Curtis, of Hayti, Missouri. He is also survived by a nephew, a niece, a great-nephew, great-niece, and many cousins and extended family members who will cherish his memory.

Jason is also survived by his wife, Tiffany Smith and step-son Calix Hornburg of New Madrid, Missouri

Jason will be remembered for his humor, his outgoing spirit, and the love he had for his family. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Funeral arrangements will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Richards Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am for family and friends are invited from 11 am to 1 pm with Funeral service following at 1pm. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri.
