James V. Mauk, 82, of New Madrid, passed away February 25, 2021 at his home in New Madrid.
He was born November 17, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska, to the late Samuel F. Mauk and Rosa Willis He was married to Connie Sue Mauk, who preceded him in death on March 9, 2009. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the NMCC-R1 school district until retiring in 1994. After retiring from NMCC-R1, he was affiliated with New Madrid County 911, and eventually joined the New Madrid County Health Department where he worked until retiring for good in 2010. He enjoyed fishing and his family most of all.
He is survived by, one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mark Winters of Jackson, TN., two grandchildren, Brian and Megan Ash of Portageville and James Ash of Abilene, TX.; three great-grandchildren, Kendra Long Ash and Mylie Long, both of Portageville and Emily Kimball of New Madrid, one brother, Ted and Jewell Mauk of Jackson, MO., one sister, Monra Mauk of Washington, DC., and Joyce Kimball.
