Miss Iola Ward of Howardsville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Miss Willie Mae Jones was born January 7, 1936, in Canalou, Missouri. She passed away at her home on October 21, 2022, in Howardsville, Missouri, at the age of 86.
Miss Iola was a caregiver and a housekeeper for many years. She took time and love to help her sister “Pecola” and her brother-in-law Simon Wofford, Sr., care for their nineteen children. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Holy Temple COGIC for many years. Iola was a very kind hearted Lady, when her family called on her for help she, so very often opened her home as well as her heart to her great nephews and nieces, for whatever they needed. She loved to go and set with the sick to talk and keep them company praying, so she could help lift their spirits.
Miss Iola Ward leaves a legacy and a lifetime of memories to cherish in the hearts of her “4” generation of nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.
Iola was preceded in death by her mother Miss Willie Mae Jones, sister Pecola Wofford, Nephew Simon Wofford, Jr., niece Alberta Farr and other family.
