Hettie A. Rogers received her wings Aug. 2, 2020, at her home in Lilbourn at the age of 92 years.
She was born Aug. 27. 1927, in the Dogwood Community in Mississippi County. Missouri, to the late Jess Dalton and Dovie Jane Woods Douglas. She lived in Marston until moving to Lilbourn where she remained.
She married J.C. Rogers and had a wonderful 44 years until his death on Dec. 1, 1976.
Survivors include: one son, Jackie Rogers of Sikeston; one daughter, Brenda Rueve of New Madrid; granddaughters, Angela Mays of New Madnd and Kimberly Rogers of Sikeston; grandsons, Darren Eby of Sikeston and Corey Jay Hamra of New Madrid; great-grandsons, Nicholas White of New Madrid, Austin and Allison White of Campbell, Bryan Rogers of Sikeston. Clayton Rowe Hamra of New Madrid and Gus Eby of Sikeston; greal-granddaughter, Elsy Jane Hamra of New Madrid; one brother. Vernon Douglas of Charleston.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter. Jane Ellen Rogers; and her sisters. Nettie Cavner, Imogene Martin, Gladys Simmons, Opal Hahn; and a very special companlon, Benson Yount.
She was a member and past president of New Madrid American Legion Auxiliary Unlt 595 and charter member and past president for 10 years of New Madrid Eagles Auxillary Aerie 4206. Ms. Rogers was an employee at ILGWU until Its closing, then took her love of cooking to the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department until her retirement after 18 years due to her health.
She leaves to cherish her memory many family members and friends.
