Eloise Clayton passed away June 20, 2025 at the Cotton Point Nursing Center in Matthews, MO at the age of 83 years.
She was born January 3, 1942 in Essex, MO to the late Rev. Dixie and Bessie Gross Purser.
She worked for Southwestern Bell for 20 Years until her retirement. She was a member of the Riverbend Pentecostal Church in New Madrid, MO. In June of 1962 she married Gene Clayton who preceded her in death in 1980.
Survivors include son Tim (Angie) Clayton of New Madrid, 3 grandchildren Courtney Sullenger, Timmy Clayton, and Brett (Lizzie) Clayton all of New Madrid. And 3 great-grandchildren Elsy and Rowe Hama and Vincent Clayton. One sister, Mary Tanner of Atlanta, GA and brother Vernon Purser. She also leaves to cherish her memories, her 2 best friends Joann Carter and Carol Henry.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Services for Eloise Clayton will be held Tuesday 6/24/2025 from 10am to 1 pm with the Funeral following at 1 pm
