Edna Carol Bixler, 81, passed away Oct 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. Carol was born 6/27/1943 in Columbia, TN to Richard and Marcella Rowden Johnson. She was adopted by Barney and Lillian Kimball of New Madrid, MO.
On April 11, 1966 she married Jack Bixler and of that union they had 6 children; Michael, Joe, Greg, Jim, Angie and Jack David.
Carol worked as a self employed beautician for years alongside her mother in New Madrid. She enjoyed singing and had the voice of a true angel. Being a member of the Immaculate Conception Church choir and singing at the Dixie Theatre. She also enjoyed working with the children of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She loved reading, doing puzzles and playing bingo and had a great love for animals. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, cooking family dinners and playing games they loved and just being mom, grandma and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by both sets of parents, her sister Polly Mann; 5 brothers, Fred Rowden, Richard Rowden, Donnie Wrather, Andy Johnson and Tommy Kimball; 2 children; Jack David Bixler and Angie Bisans.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jack; sons Michael (Jody) Bixler, Joe (Sheila) Bixler, Greg (Beth) Bixler and Jim (Timesha) Bixler, 1 son-in-law Dennis Bisans, 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers John (Connie) Smith and John (Cyndi) Kimball.
Visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid on Sunday November 3rd from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary at 6:30 pm.
Funeral mass will be at Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid on Monday Nov 4th,2024 at 10:30 am
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
