David Tinnin Obituary

David Franklin Tinnin, 71, of New Madrid passed away on February 13, 2026 at St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

David was born on September 26, 1954 in Kennett, MO to Minnie Sue and Herman Tinnin. He was raised running the streets of Hollywood, MO where he built lifelong memories and friendships. He later made his home in New Madrid, where he worked hard and raised his family.

He was a devoted husband and loving father. On April 9, 1976, he married the love of his life, Melissa Ann Tinnin (Poole). For nearly 50 years, their marriage stood as a testament to loyalty, strength, and enduring love.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Ann Tinnin of New Madrid; his son Shawn Tinnin of New Madrid; and his son Brandon Tinnin and wife Miranda of Sikeston, along with their sons, Auston and Zach.

David dedicated his adult life to hard work and commitment through his career at AECI and Noranda. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and determination.

In his younger years, David had a passion for duck hunting and golfing. He enjoyed the outdoors and the camaraderie that came with those pastimes. In his free time, he was a proud Cardinals fan, loved playing cards, and enjoyed working puzzles. He also had a true passion for tinkering and fixing things - if something was broken, David was determined to figure it out and rarely gave up until the job was done.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Sue and Herman; two brothers, Bobby and Richard, and one sister, Julia. He is also survived by his brother, James, and many nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his strength of character, steady presence, and the love he gave so freely to those closest to him

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
