Damika Maria Black was born in Sikeston, MO on December 4,
1975 and God called her home on October 11, 2020. Damika
confessed to Christ at an early age. She came from the Father and
has returned safely to the Father for eternal life. Damika was
preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Jettie & James
Patterson as well as her paternal grandparents LulaBell & Earl
Thompson. She was also preceded in death by aunts Fannie Brown,
Debra Thompson & Doris Patterson & uncles Willie Patterson, James
Patterson Jr & Elbert Black. She was affectionately known as Mika,
Mina, Fat Rat & Everybody's Baby to those near & dear to her. She
loved spending time with her family, cooking weird foods, smoking
Hooka & retail therapy. Mika was married to Ricardo Campbell. She
completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Trident University and received
her Master’s Degree from Keller University. Damika worked as a
Supervisor at SNC Lavalin Atkins and also was the owner of Barbells
and Bracelets.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother Ramonia Black
of New Madrid MO & her father Daryl (Deborah) Black of Kansas
City, MO. Damika was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She
treasured her children & embraced every moment with them. Her
princess Annissa Clark of Atlanta, GA & prince Jeffrey Clark Jr of
Kansas City, KS were her inspiration, motivation & true loves in this
life. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of siblings that will
undoubtedly miss her: Undra (Alysia) Patterson of Florissant,
MO; Ulandria (Larry) Durham of St Louis, MO; Daryl Black of St Louis,
MO; Christopher (Dana) Black of Los Angeles, CA; Daryl L (Tracy)
Black of Sacramento, CA; Artia Black of Centerville, IL; Cynthia
(Sylvester) Ayers of Cape Girardeau, MO. Damika has a plethora of
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins who all loved her dearly &
the love was reciprocated. One of Damika's most adored
relationships & extra special bond was with her beloved Aunt
Shelia Patterson. Stephanie Gates, Tammy Smith & Patricia Robinson
are beautiful women that she affectionately called friends since
childhood.
