Obituary

Dale Howell DeMay, Sr., passed away on April 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

Born in Bragg City, Missouri on November 14, 1939, Dale grew up in the farming community known as JY and attended school in Risco, Missouri. Dale served in both the Missouri National Guard and United States Army.  After returning home from overseas, he took a position with ITT Blackburn, where he worked until retirement.

Dale married Letty Jean Lowrey on March 21, 1970, who survives of the home. They made their home in Fenton, Missouri and relocated back to New Madrid in 2020.  He enjoyed a good day or night of fishing and also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.

He is survived by Mary Garrard DeMay Ross, of Norfolk, VA., the mother of his two sons Dale H. (Martha) DeMay, Jr., of Richmond, VA., and Anthony P. (Sunny) of Virginia Beach, VA., and one daughter, Tina M. DeMay-Wood, of Paragould, AR., he has eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, one brother, Jim (Connie) Ramsey of Portageville, MO., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Theodore "Ted" DeMay and Wreatha Lee DeMay Ramsey, stepfather, Jasper Ramsey, brothers, Bobby DeMay, Eldon DeMay, Danny Ramsey, one sister, Mary Ruth Meenes and one great-grandson, Wade DeMay.

We would like to give special thanks to Jewel his caregiver and Clifton his driver and all the medical staff that supported him.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to be made to the Realtors Housing Assistance Fund through the St. Louis REALTORS.
