Bonita Evelyn Watson Shaw, 89, died June 30, 2018, at her home in New Madrid.
Born May 13, 1929, in Illinois, daughter of the late Raymond and Bessie Carrell Watson, she was a lifelong member of the First United Pentecostal Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She managed the Greyhound bus station until it closed.
Her husband, Gerald Shaw Sr., preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one son, James Watson Jr.; one brother, Paul Watson Sr.; three sisters, Dottie Schlund, Ramona Dyer Pipkin and Norma Lyons; and one grandson.
Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Watson of Imperial and Gerald Shaw Jr. of New Madrid; one daughter, Rhonda Riggs of New Madrid; one sister, Rebecca Poole of Tulsa, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. Monday at Riverbend Pentecostal Church in New Madrid, where services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday with G.L. Keene officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery.
Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid is in charge of arrangements.
