Benjamin Crider Obituary

Benjamin Lawrence Crider was born August 27, 1983 to Tracy Crossfield of New Madrid, Missouri  He gained his angel wings at the age of 42 on June 3, 2026 at Missouri Delta Medical Center, surrounded by all of his loved ones.

Ben was a fighter from birth, he had his fair share of health problems and physical disabilities- but that never got him down. Ben was an absolute miracle and solid proof of God’s love.

Ben lived in New Madrid most of his life and attended New Madrid County High School. He was a 2004 graduate and really enjoyed his time in school.

Ben was the life of the party. He had a beautiful, Innocent, loving heart and the ability to gather loved ones together, near and far.  He had a big smile and an even bigger laugh - he was truly something special. He was a son, a big brother, an uncle, and everyone’s friend. He knew no stranger and never cast judgement. If he knew you, he loved you. He was a light and to know him was a true blessing.

Ben enjoyed watching television, mostly cartoons and game shows, scratching lottery tickets with his Uncle Rocky, coloring, listening to music, joking with his Mom, and going out to eat. He spent a lot of time with his family and his little nieces, who loved to help push him in his wheelchair and hang out in his room. He loved his brother-in-law JB and thought he hung the moon. Ben also really adored his cousins whom he grew up with and talked about often. Ben was a real family man.

Ben is survived by his parents, Tracy and James Crossfield of New Madrid, his sister and brother-in-law Sydney and JB Small of New Madrid, his two nieces, Nova and Genevieve Small.  Amy and Matt Foster of North Carolina, Laura Crossfield of North Carolina, James Crossfield of Campbell, MO., Kaitlin and Jacob Wicker of Sikeston, MO, Hayden Sletten of New Madrid, MO, his nieces and nephews, Haedyn Foster, Jamison Foster, Chase Foster, Scyllus Crossfield, Evelyn Wicker and Liam Wicker and a big loving family of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Chalbert and Nova Nelson, his Uncle David Nelson, and his Uncle Ricky Nelson.

Benjamin will be greatly missed but he is now using his own two legs to walk the floors of heaven, there is no pain and no disability. Ben is no longer bound but free with our Lord and Savior
