Ben Wesley

Ben Wesley, affectionately known as “Big Ben”, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2025, in New Madrid, MO, at the age of 86. born on July 28, 1939 in Canton, MS, Ben was the beloved son of Catherine Pate (deceased) and William Wesley (deceased), and grandson to Ben Pate (deceased). A lifelong outdoorsman, Ben cherished fishing, hunting, and sharing these activities alongside family members, creating countless memories filled with laughter and fun. Early in his life, Ben’s love of the land drew him to farming. His hard work and dedication led him to become a supervisor of guiding teams in planting assorted crops and ensuring successful harvests. Ben’s life was forever changed when he met Minnie Collins, the love of his life. The two married and shared a deep bond until Minnie’s passing after a lengthy illness. Deeply devoted to his family, Ben spent his later years honoring his mother’s memory, preserving her home and possessions with great care. Ben’s spirit will be remembered for his love of nature, keen debates, generous meals, and unwavering presence at family gatherings.  A graveside service will be performed by Richards Funeral Home. Ben leaves behind a legacy of devotion, hard work, and cherished family memories. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Graveside services will be held 8/29/2025 @ 3:00 pm at Sand Hill Cemetery.
