Barbara Ann Stegman, age 76, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 13, 2024 surrounded by the love of her life and family at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.
She was born July 9, 1948 in Clay Center, KS to the late Leonard and Lelia Eye.
On March 13, 1970 in Clay Center, KS she married Gilbert Stegman Jr, with whom she shared a life of love and partnership. Together they raised a family built with strong values and unbreakable bonds.
Barb was a member of the Lilbourn VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, an amazing mom and granny. She loved gardening, baking cookies and candies for her family and friends. If you ask her kids, they’d tell you her pumpkin pies were top-notch. She loved crocheting and playing bingo. She loved traveling and making memories with her husband. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. A lot of her time was spent in the kitchen teaching her granddaughters how to cook and bake, and spending summers at the lake camping with her grandsons. She enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports and was always there to support them.
Barb is survived by her husband of 54 years, 1 daughter Nicole (Thomas) Lemons of Dexter, MO. 4 sons, Richard (Kathy) Williams of Wichita, KS, Randall (Ladonna) Williams of New Madrid, MO, John (Jamie) Stegman of Hallsville, MO, and Chad Stegman of New Madrid, MO. One niece, Michelle Eye of Bernie, MO whom she raised as her own; 5 grandsons, Kyle Williams, Jeremy Williams, Matthew Williams, Phillip Stegman and Zachary Stegman; 9 granddaughters, Whitney Musgrave, Ashley Hoffer, Anna Zuck, Cheyanne Morgan, Alexis Hays, Danielle Hays, Kimberly Hays, Chloe Stegman and Olivia Stegman; 21 great-grandkids, 2 brothers, Leonard Jr (Pat) Eye and Mitchell Eye, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sherry Ann Stegman and her sister Linda Ramirez.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, MO from 10 am to 11 am for family, 11am to 1 pm for friends. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Rev G. L. Keene officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, MO.
Pallbearers will be Rick Williams, Randy Williams, John Stegman, Chad Stegman, Phillip Stegman and Zach Stegman. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Lemons, Wade Ramsey, Matt Williams, Kyle Williams, Jeremy Williams and Josh Hoffer.
