Barbara Denise (Beasley) Hicks-Pratcher

Barbara Denise Hicks-Pratcher was born March 24, 1969 in Sikeston, MO to Zelma Hicks and Eddie Beasley. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother Rickey Beasley, nephew Datrae Hicks, maternal grandparents Lillie and Willie Hicks, paternal grandparents Eva and Junuis Beasley. 

  Barbara was a graduate of New Madrid County Central Class of 1988 and subsequently joined the U.S. Navy where she served as a Radioman onboard both the USS FULTON (AS 11) and USS HUNLEY (AS -31) in support of the Gulf War.  Petty Officer Hicks was honorably discharged in 1993 and then attended Bryant and Stratton College in Hampton, VA   where she received an Associate’s Degree, Medical Administrative Assistance. On February 24, 2006 she married the love of her life Vincent N. Pratcher. 

  She confessed her love for Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church South Hill in Chesapeake, VA where she was baptized in 2006 under the leadership of Rev. Michael Toliver. 

  Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend whose heart was just as big as her personality. She loved her family and friends and they loved her.  Her hobbies were decorating, scrapbooking and spending time with her family. 

On Tuesday March 09, 2021 God dispatched his angels and she went to her heavenly home.
