Alexander (Big Al) Wilderness was born June 28, 1966 in Lilbourn MO to Geneva Wilderness and Eddie (Bobo) Haynes. Alexander was united in Holy Matrimony to Marsha Lynn Wilderness on March 12, 2010.He was preceded in death by his mother Geneva Wilderness; his grandparents Sam and Early Avery; and Robert & Minnie Haynes; two grandsons, Zjequalin and Aaron Cody; on sister Angel Ray; two uncles, Clen and Frank Wilderness; three aunts, Nora Cooper, Helen Wilderness and Lavern Avery.
Alexander and Lynn lived in Columbia MO for a number of years and moved to Columbus OH before settling in St. Louis MO. He was a quiet voice with a powerful impact when he spoke. He loved spending time with his family and friends; especially his kids and two brothers, Sammy and Tony. Alexander had a good heart and was loving kind to people. But his greatest accomplishment was when he gave his life to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He loved barbecues and eating, ……..especially Lynn’ s cooking. Big Al and Lynn had a special saying between them "Hold on to your fork" meaning you never know what might be coming after the main meal.
Alexander is survived by his wife, Marsha Lynn Wilderness; one son, Marzette Wilderness and two sons in love, Christopher Buchanan and Sylveltri Ray; four daughters in love, Chaquita Townsend, Chaquila Jenkins(Kevin), Chaquana Townsend, Chajuana Townsend; Siblings, Sammy Wilderness, Tony Wilderness, Preston Tisdell, Angela Haynes, Eddie Haynes Jr., Pastor Mike “Eddie” Gordon, Deatra Ray, Ebony S. Haynes, Essence J. Haynes, Jarrous E. Haynes, Michelle Haynes, Tamara Haynes, April Haynes; one uncle Alexander (Uncle Buddy) Wilderness; five aunts, Rose Partee, Vergie Avery, Farris Avery, Darlene Avery, Letha (Alonzo) Jenkins, Emeritus Ruby (Tudy) Wilderness; bonus brother, Corey Rowe and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
