Al Jarrett Jr. was born June 22, 1930 in Earl, AR to Al Jarrett
Sr. and Ora Lee Hodges. He and his mother moved to New
Madrid, MO when he was 16 yrs. old. Throughout his
lifetime he worked as a ginner at Riley Cotton Gin, a butcher
and stockman for Dawson's Grocery, a carry out and stocker
for both IGA's of New Madrid and Ramey's Grocery Store.
On August 25, 1956 he was united in Holy Matrimony to
Mary Helen Jarrett, who still resides in New Madrid, MO.
Al has one sister who preceded him in death, Ulla Mae Hill of
Sikeston, MO.
He leaves to cherish his memories, besides his loving wife, 2
sons, George Jarrett of Oklahoma City, OK and Emmanuel
Jarrett of Springfield, MO; 1 stepson, Bruce Robinson of New
Madrid, MO; 3 daughters, Dorthea (David) Cecil of Baltimore,
MD, Mary Ann Hill of St. Louis, MO, Cassandra Collins
(Bernard Patterson) of New Madrid, MO, 3 cousins he raised
Johnny, Richard and James Allison. He also leaves behind 33
grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, sister-in-law's, brother-in-law's, family
and friends.
