Ronnie Eugene Patterson, 72, died July 28, 2017, at his home in New Madrid.
He was born Oct. 8, 1945, to the late Raymond and Louise Hockersmith Patterson. He was deputy sheriff, serving as chief deputy. He was employed with Noranda for 23 years until his retirement. He was a third degree Mason of the New Madrid Masonic Lodge 108.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann (Fowler) Patterson; one brother Roger (Jerrie Ruth) Patterson of New Madrid; two children Lisa Brown (Charlie) of Jackson and Sue Ellen (David) Ertz of New Madrid; and seven grandchildren, Kris (Kayla) Lyons, Garrett Brown, Natalie Brown, Gabriel Brown, Brady Swims, Kylie Ertz, and Colton Ertz; and two great-grandchildren, Kole Dodd and Kross Lyons. Also his beloved dog, Max.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Patterson.
Pallbearers are Kris Lyons, Garrett Brown, Dave Ertz, Charlie Brown, Daryl Swims and David Scott.
Honorary pallbearers are Tom Wills, Brady Swims, Gabe Brown, Kole Dodd and Colton Ertz.
Visitation will be Monday, July 31, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. until time of service at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.
The Revs. Jeff Polk and Travis Lambert will officiate.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
