Bonnie Boster of New Madrid, MO., was born Yuriko Nakata on June 12, 1924 in Tottori Ken, Japan, one
of 6. She lived in China and Japan and at one time spoke Chinese, Russian, and
her native Japanese. Bonnie married Floyd M. Boster on Jan 15, 1951 in Tokyo,
Japan where he was stationed in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. In
1953, upon release from the Army, they traveled by ship and train to St. Louis,
MO. Bonnie attained her U.S. Citizenship in 1956 and added Bonnie as her proper
name meaning "pretty lady". Two children blessed them, Sandra Kay, and John
Mathew, who preceded her in death. Floyd died in 1972 and Bonnie struggled to
raise two teens on her own.
Bonnie was blessed with a second family, the Adams, of New Madrid. They loved
her as a daughter, sister-in-law, aunt, and Me Maw. Bonnie held a special place in
her heart for Abby (Silas) Robinson., She was active in the community
volunteering at bingo at the American Legion and Eagles in New Madrid. She
knew no stranger. She was seen around the neighborhood doing her daily walks
and was known for her cooking and sewing skills.
Bonnie passed peacefully thru the gates of Heaven Feb 9 at her daughter's home
after a brief struggle with congestive heart failure. Survivors include her
daughter, Sandra, of Wentzville, MO., granddaughter, Sarah, of Wentzville, MO.,
and grandson, Shane (Brittany), of Hesston, KS. Special mention to the Adams
family who loved her for 40 years: George "Short" & Sharon Adams, Lana, Todd, &
Gavin Luke, Anita and Gary Robinson, Granny Evelyn Peacock, Ronnie Peacock
Vicky (Steven) Klein, and Sandy Turner, Ron (Brenda) Adams
Patricia Taylor, Dixie (Dale) Corn, others preceding he in death are; John "Red" Adams, Don Adams, Carol Blagg and Doris Ogden.
