JuVonia Reed Jr

JuVonia Reed Jr was born September 17, 1929 in Marston, Missouri to the union of JuVonia Reed Sr. and Sallie Reed. He was one of 14 children. Both parents, 9 siblings, and a son preceded him in death.

JuVonia confessed Christ at an early age at Lily of the The Valley M.B. Church near Point Pleasant, Missouri. He attended elementary school near Point Pleasant and attended O’Bannon High School.

He joined the military (Army) to serve his country and was given an Honorable discharge. After his time in the military he moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan and became a member of Mount Olive M.B. Church under the leadership of Elder Paul Garret. Still wanting to serve, he became a volunteer foster grandparent for the youth of Lansing, Ingham, Eaton, and Livington counties in Michigan. He was awarded many certificates for his sevices.

His faith in God was very strong and he knew with God all things are possible. He believed in God, family, and church. He then moved back to Howardsville, Missouri where he was reunited with the love of his life, Viola Reed. They both joined Zion Rock M.B. Church where he served as an usher until his passing. He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, a loving wife Viola Reed, four sisters Mable Kerr of Kansas City, Missouri, Lucille Evans of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Eliza Bank Reed and Ethel Mae Reed of Colorado. Two sister-in-laws, Margurite Stanton and Beatrice Liddell of St. Louis, Missouri. Two daughters, Diana of South Bend, Indiana and Freddie Davis of St. Louis, Missouri. Many grandchildren, a host of special nieces and nephews, friends, and a very special friend Brother Moore. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him
